About me
I always draw, sometimes I write, usually on a deadline.
Hi, I’m Dario D’Angelo, an Italian comic artist currently working in the American comics industry.
I’ve always been drawn to comics as a way of telling stories, and that’s pretty much what I’ve been doing ever since I started studying them seriously.
I’m the winner of the inaugural Hugo Pratt Comics Award for my story A Chill Guy, which was recently published in issue #6 of the American magazine Heavy Metal. It was definitely a nice milestone for me, especially after spending years working toward the goal of doing comics professionally.
Since graduating from Scuola del Fumetto Palermo, I’ve had the chance to work with several independent American publishers, drawing full issues and working both as an artist and colorist. At the same time, I’ve been working on my own creator-owned projects and trying to keep a good balance between collaborations and the stories I want to tell myself.
These days I’m working with different independent comics publishers while continuing to develop my own projects. I’m always happy to meet other creators, publishers, editors, and writers, and to see what kind of projects might come out of those connections.
So, if you think I could be a good fit for your project, feel free to get in touch.
